Bahamas Liveaboard & Mexico Diving AdventureTiger Beach • Bimini • Riviera Maya • Playa del Carmen Get ready for an extraordinary diving holiday featuring close encounters with some of the ocean’s most impressive predators, crystal-clear tropical waters and spectacular underwater scenery. Combine the legendary shark dives of the Bahamas with an optional diving program in Mexico for an even more diverse adventure. This trip focuses on the famous tiger sharks of Tiger Beach and the great hammerheads of Bimini. Guests who wish to extend their holiday can separately book Mexico’s fascinating cenote dives and seasonal bull shark dives in Playa del Carmen. BAHAMAS LIVEABOARD: FACE TO FACE WITH SHARKSTiger Beach – The World of Tiger SharksLocated in the northwestern Bahamas near Grand Bahama, Tiger Beach is one of the world’s best-known shark-diving destinations. Its white sandy seabed, warm clear water and rich marine life create exceptional opportunities for divers and underwater photographers. Here, you may encounter tiger sharks alongside lemon, reef and nurse sharks. Depending on the itinerary, dives can include both structured baited shark dives and non-baited dives. Fish Tales is one of the main dive sites, with a maximum depth of approximately 15 metres (50 feet). The daily schedule may include up to four dives, depending on conditions and the operator’s plan. Bimini – Great Hammerhead SharksBimini, in the western Bahamas, is a renowned destination for divers hoping to encounter great hammerhead sharks. Observing these remarkable animals in their natural environment can be one of the highlights of the trip. Bull sharks and nurse sharks may also be encountered in the region. Longer itineraries may include opportunities to observe wild Atlantic spotted dolphins when conditions and the schedule allow. Sharks and dolphins are wild animals, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. Encounters with great hammerheads and dolphins may require patience and favourable conditions. THE LIVEABOARD EXPERIENCEThe Bahamas trip operates aboard the M/V Dolphin Dream, departing from Florida. The approximately 86-foot (26-metre) vessel is designed for liveaboard diving and ocean travel. The boat has six double-occupancy cabins and accommodates approximately 12 guests. Shared lounge, dining and relaxation areas provide comfortable spaces between dives. Staying aboard allows you to spend more time near the dive sites without having to return to shore each day or arrange separate land transfers to different locations. OPTIONAL MEXICO DIVING PROGRAMGuests who wish to extend their adventure can separately book an optional diving program in Mexico. This combines two very different experiences: cenote diving in the Riviera Maya and seasonal bull shark diving in Playa del Carmen. Riviera Maya – Cenote DivingMexico’s Yucatán Peninsula is famous for its natural limestone formations, freshwater pools and flooded underground systems. Known as cenotes, these sites offer some of the world’s most distinctive diving environments, with exceptionally clear water and dramatic sunlight effects. Explore ancient stalactites and stalagmites, fascinating limestone formations and sunbeams filtering into the water. At some sites, the meeting of freshwater and saltwater creates visible halocline layers that add another remarkable feature to the dive. Dives are selected according to the diver’s certification and experience and are conducted with professional local guides. Not every cenote is suitable for every diver; cavern and cave diving have specific training and safety requirements. Playa del Carmen – Bull Shark DivingPlaya del Carmen, on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, is known for seasonal bull shark diving during the winter months. The general season typically runs from mid-November to mid-March, although exact dates and conditions must be confirmed with the local operator. Following a professional safety briefing, divers may have the opportunity to observe these powerful predators in designated dive areas. Bull shark dives require procedures different from those used on ordinary reef dives. Certification, experience and participation requirements depend on the selected operator. Bull sharks are wild animals, and sightings cannot be guaranteed. Mexico Program DetailsMexico’s cenote and bull shark dives are not included in the Bahamas liveaboard package and must be booked separately. Dates, flights, accommodation, dive availability and local transfers should be coordinated before confirming the additional program. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS AND SAFETYThe Bahamas shark-diving trip is not intended for beginner divers. The operator specifies an Advanced Open Water Diver certification and sufficient diving experience as requirements. Previous shark-diving experience is important. These are uncaged shark encounters and involve specific risks. All participants must follow the crew’s safety briefings and carefully review the required liability documents. For Mexico’s cenote and bull shark dives, the selected operator’s certification, experience, physical fitness and safety requirements apply. A minimum surface interval of 24 hours after the final dive is recommended before flying. Plan your flights around the final dive and disembarkation schedule. VISA AND TRAVEL INFORMATIONU.S. visa: As the boat departs from Florida and returns to Florida, guests must have the travel documents required to enter the United States. Turkish citizens must hold a valid U.S. visa. Passport: A valid passport and all required entry documents must be carried throughout the trip. Entry requirements for the Bahamas and Mexico should also be checked according to nationality and passport type. Getting to Florida: The boat departs from Blue Heron Docks in Riviera Beach, Florida. Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) is approximately 20 minutes away. Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is around one hour away, while Miami International Airport (MIA) is approximately two hours away. Travel times vary with traffic. Visa requirements, passport validity, entry regulations and flight arrangements should be verified through official sources before booking.
